The Naya Connect is a keyboard enthusiast's dream, offering an innovative solution to the eternal struggle of choosing the perfect setup. But what if you could have it all?
Naya, a company with a successful Kickstarter history, is back with a modular mechanical keyboard system that caters to the undecided. The Naya Connect builds upon its predecessor, the Naya Create, which was a unique ergonomic split keyboard with a twist. It offered four intriguing controller add-ons, ranging from a touchpad to a 6DoF spatial mouse, attached to a split deck.
Now, Naya takes this modularity further with the Connect. It adapts the concept to a standard flat keyboard layout, making it more accessible while expanding its capabilities. And the response has been phenomenal! It reached its modest funding goal in a mere six minutes, proving its appeal.
The system comprises four core components: the Naya Type, a sleek 75% low-profile mechanical keyboard; a 24-key multipad; a six-key programmable strip; and a dock. The dock, a standout feature, includes four keys and accommodates the same swappable controllers as the Create. This setup is a decision-maker's dream, allowing users to effortlessly switch between full-size and compact keyboards or various input devices.
Magnetic connectors make customization a breeze. Users can position the components almost limitlessly: imagine a massive rotary controller beside the keyboard and a touchpad on the other side. Left-handed? No problem! The multipad can be placed on either side, or even both, for dual macro setups.
The pricing reflects the versatility. The All-in bundle, a complete setup, costs €568 (approx. $662), while the most affordable bundle, featuring the dock and touchpad controller, is €187 (approx. $218). As with any Kickstarter project, backers should be aware of the associated risks.
And here's where it gets intriguing: Naya Connect empowers users to create their ideal keyboard experience, but could this level of customization be overwhelming for some? Is there such a thing as too much choice? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
