Get ready for a thrilling showdown as Manchester United gears up for their home game against Tottenham Hotspur!
Our very own Michael Carrick has shared his plans, and the anticipation is building. With kick-off set for 12:30 GMT on Saturday at the iconic Old Trafford, the Reds are determined to break an eight-match winless streak against one of Carrick's former clubs.
But here's where it gets controversial... Our head coach, Carrick, believes Mason Mount, who sat out the recent win over Fulham, is closer to a comeback than Matthijs de Ligt, who's been dealing with a back injury.
Carrick shared with journalists at a press conference in Carrington on Thursday, "Probably, Mason [will be available] sooner. He's not too far away really. We're hopeful it won't be too long."
As for De Ligt, Carrick added, "Matta [De Ligt] is working his way back, taking good steps and improving. It's a little too soon at the moment, but hopefully, it won't be too long [before De Ligt is back]."
The team has been working hard this week, keeping their feet on the ground and not getting ahead of themselves. As Carrick put it, "It's a big challenge ahead."
Now, let's turn our attention to Tottenham Hotspur. Their boss, Thomas Frank, has confirmed that influential defenders Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are expected to be available.
Djed Spence is also making a strong recovery, according to Frank, who said, "Djed is getting closer, it will be touch and go, and there's a good chance he'll be ready."
However, Tottenham does have an extensive injury list, including the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, and Richarlison.
So, who do you think will come out on top in this highly anticipated match? Will Manchester United break their winless streak, or will Tottenham Hotspur prove their mettle?
